How to Install Black on Android: Launcher First, ISO Second

The Black install in the right order: launcher APK, one first launch, the ISO into the Black folder, and the checks that stop the missing-data message.

Pistol firing in a burning street in BLACK gameplay footage

BLACK on Android installs in two parts, and nearly every failed setup comes from doing them in the wrong order or skipping the middle step. Start with the verified launcher from Black APK, and the rest of this page is a straight line to the first mission.

Step one: the launcher

Download the launcher file, about 22.7 MB, and install it like any Android app: open it, allow installs from your browser when Android asks, and tap Install. The launcher needs Android 10.0 or newer. Resist opening the game properly yet. If you try to play now, you will meet the missing-data message, because the launcher is only the engine, menus and controls. The actual game lives in the second file, which is the subject of our guide to the Black game ISO and where it belongs.

Step two: one first launch

Open the launcher once and let it sit on its main screen for a few seconds, then close it. That single launch makes the launcher create its folder at /storage/emulated/0/Black. Creating the folder is the step people skip, and then wonder where the ISO is supposed to go. If you prefer, make the folder yourself in a file manager with exactly that name: Black, capital B, at the root of your storage.

Step three: the ISO

Download the ISO, about 1.69 GB, on Wi-Fi, and move it, unchanged, into the Black folder. Do not rename it, do not unzip anything, and do not let a download manager append numbers to its name. Alternatively, open the launcher, choose Import game, and select the ISO wherever it currently sits; the launcher registers it from there, which is the route we recommend for anyone who dislikes file managers. Both files together are listed on the Black download page in the order you need them.

Step four: play, then tune

Launch the game and start the campaign. Spend the first calm minutes in the settings: the touch layout that this Black Android port ships with is a starting point, not a verdict, and our touch controls guide for BLACK on Android shows the arrangement most players settle on. If anything goes wrong at any step, the cause is almost always one of three things: a short ISO, a renamed ISO, or an ISO in the wrong folder. Check those before you reinstall anything.

A note on doing this once, properly

The players who struggle with this install are almost never the players who read slowly; they are the players whose Black APK came from one page and whose ISO came from another, in mismatched versions of the port. The launcher and the data file are a pair. Fetch the Black APK and the Black game ISO from the same listing, in the same session, and the pairing this site tested is the pairing on your phone. It takes one extra minute at download time and removes an entire category of strange errors that no setting can fix.

Quick Answers

Why does the game ask for data after I installed the APK?

The APK is only the launcher. The game itself is in the ISO, which must sit in the Black folder or be registered through Import game.

Can I create the Black folder myself?

Yes, at /storage/emulated/0/Black, with that exact name. Opening the launcher once creates it automatically, which is simpler.

Does the order of downloads matter?

Install order matters more than download order: launcher first, one launch to create the folder, then the ISO into place.
